Sony's new Ghostbusters might not have won over critics, but one element that people seemed to enjoy in particular was Kate McKinnon's scene-stealing presence.
She shines again in a new outtakes clip that was posted online by rayecheng from the film's Blu-ray/DVD release. It's nearly 10 minutes of McKinnon ad-libbing lines in rapid-fire succession, and it's wonderful. There is even a segment dedicated to hearse jokes. As others have said, it's particularly remarkable that she never breaks character, at least in the footage seen here. Check it out:
The home video version of Ghostbusters also comes with deleted and alternate scenes, five featurettes, and commentary from the filmmakers, among other things. It came out earlier this month.
Behind waves of criticism, Ghostbusters came to theaters in July. The movie, which also stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, and Leslie Jones, made more than $217 million worldwide. A report suggested the planned sequel may not happen, while Sony refuted the claim that the movie will be a money-loser.
